Our visit to Fish on Fifth was, in my opinion, awful. I certainly understand that since it is Market night on Thursday's, therefore you must be very busy, but knowing that I would think you would be more prepared. We, my friend and I, sat for over 45 minutes waiting for food, which was after we had already waited 15 minutes to have our food and drinks order taken. When the food arrived my fish was cold and a little tough and the fries were cold too. My friend's wasn't much better. Sorry, I always liked to eat there on Thursdays, or any days we come up to Sidney, however I won't be returning anytime soon. Actually, the waiter seemed to spend more time talking to guests, which again is fine, if you are not busy...

Lovely and very Island-authentic place in Sydney. The halibut and chips is the best in Victoria. Old fashioned home cooked flavors, very fresh fish and delicious coleslaw. The best part? Friendly and helpful staff who make it their business to ensure you leave happy and return many times. A definite must when in Sydney, B.C.

We ended up here based on recommendation and the fact we heard that they had Dole Whips, one of our favourite Disney treats. The service was quick and attentive and friendly. We ordered a cod wrap with yam fries and a 2pc Cod with fries. The cod and fries were very good. Nice crisp batter, not too greasy. The cod wrap and yam fries were very tasty. The fry dip was a curry mayo, very nice.Unfortunately, about half-day through the wrap my wife found a really long hair, which turned her off. After making note of this to our server, who was very apologetic, the manager came over and comped her meal, which was appropriate and accepted. The other issue was they had no Dole Whip. It was mostly why we went here. Disappointing to say the least. The food was good though. We understand hairs can happen and not a reflection of poor cleanliness. We will be back. Hopefully they can let people know on their Facebook page if they are out of something that day.

WOW AMAZING FOOD!! First seafood out here on the island they didnt disappoint! Halibut and chowder and then a deep fried mars bar shared with my amazing family. Great atmosphere even table games with the option of playing with rope to tie knots or a trivia game. Art work on the walls leaving you spell bound. Thanks Fish On Fifth for the amazingness

Happened upon this place today , it looks from the outside like a fish fry with character and thats exactly what I found. I had the cod, deep fried with chips , classic, and it was perfect. Home made tartar sauce, family run, well kept, local beer. What a gem
