Service was just awful; for reference, it took the staff 45 minutes alone to serve us, along with 10 minutes to simply give us the menu. It is quite the popular destination, but that doesn't excuse the hour we spent simply waiting to be assisted. Every time we needed something (which was very rarely), it seemed to be like an annoyance that only further slowed down their flow, rather than an opportunity to help their customers. My father's burger was completely cold; my wrap was alright, but made me feel quite sick after. We got reimbursed for the burger, but the fact still remains. Overall, despite how much I love the vibe of this place, I haven't had one good experience here. :(
Poor service, mediocre food.If a customer is reading a paper, you should probably not just put their food directly on top of the paper. Regardless of how much of a rush you are in, you should still be able to allow someone to put aside the article they're reading. My coffee also tasted a bit too much like soap to be enjoyable. The entire time I was in this place I felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff working there - like somehow standing around chatting with each other was more important than serving customers.Perhaps some of the staff need to be reminded that customers are what keep the doors open. Fantastic and lovely place! It's like Floyd's but better (not trying to start a fight, it's just my opinion). The staff here have always been attentive and friendly, and they make sure your coffee doesn't run out.The food is great, with a menu that remains interesting but not venturing into "weird" territory. My only grief is having to drive all the way out to Sidney to get their, but I find it's worth the trip.
I feel that the consistently 'community of varied tastes and interests is refreshing? They value their business and do their best to keep it simple while also finding ways to make the most intelligent and conversational art work and purposefully utilized styled cabinet and seating. Food is what I enjoy and I've come to accept that it's presentation and quality can be hit and miss. The effort is always evident and I will keep enjoying 15-30 minutes a week for the trial of new eggs Benedict and milkshake creations!
Wow! Lovely breakfast spot. Dropped some friends at the first ferry and then had breakfast here. Wait staff were great. Food was great. Even the other people in there were great. If this place was in downtown Victoria it would have lines like the other in demand breakfast/brunch spots.
