Cozy place, attentive service, great burgers. No hard alcohol but the beer is cold and wet! I had the ground bacon burger and the house salad. It was delicious and the right portion of food for me. Will definitely be back.
The food was great, a little hidden gem. Staff was friendly, it was busy, would definitely recommend to a friend. Portion size is good.Food was a bit slow coming out (but it was busy and they had pick up orders), and they were out of quite a few items from the menu.
Stopped by on our way into Victoria off the ferry due to recommendations. The place looks nice, has a cool vibe to it, although it smells of oil as the kitchen is half open. Also you can see the kitchen staff working with their bare hands. Not good.Service was very friendly. We ordered an Angus burger and lamb burger (Build your own). There was a wide variety of toppings and sauces, which was nice. Also ordered the half fries half salad side. The food took 20+ min to arrive even though the place was half empty. Nothing seemed to go out for a while. Now to the food itself - looking at the burger initially, it looked pretty impressive. The portions were big. But after biting down through the veggies and sauces, we hit a very dry, tasteless patty which wasnt very good. I tried a few more bites just to make sure, then just the patty, but both our burgers had no taste or juices in them. Good thing there were sauces to add some juiciness. Overall, not a good hamburger. The fries we got as a side were decent. Green salad was fresh and good. Dressing as well. Too bad. Seemed promising.
Great food. Great service. Made a reservation but due to the limited capacity it took about an hour to get us seated. They were kind enough to provide us with some maple bacon on the house.
Wasn't a great experience! Service was terrible as we got forgotten about and to make matters worse when the food did finally come the fries were extremely dark and dripping in oil. You can't fill the enitre baskets with fries and expect them to come out light and crispy. The temperature of the fryer drops and then they just become latent with oil. The burger itself wasn't terrible but lacked flavour and needs some polishing. I realize that every restaurant can have bad nights but for a place that specializes in burgers and fries you should be able to get them right. I watched the kitchen the entire time we waited for food and communication is something that needs to take place otherwise things go terribly. Unfortunately that's what happened tonight. Our server/manager did try and make things right by discounting the meal by half, but I'm not sure that this is enough for me to think this place deserves a second chance. I was truly looking forward to eating here but I think they need stronger leadership in the kitchen on a busy Friday night in-order for them to stand the test of time.
